The two top sponsorships for Building Innovation 2016: The National Institute of Building Sciences Fourth Annual Conference and Expo have been claimed by supportive and respected industry organizations. The International Code Council (ICC) will take on the prominent role of Conference sponsor and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has claimed the role as Technical Programs sponsor. The event, to be held January 11-15, 2016, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C., will focus on Achieving a Resilient Future.
Designing and constructing sustainable and resilient buildings, infrastructure and communities that are safe and secure is a priority for the Institute, ICC, IAPMO and the entire building community. During Building Innovation 2016, where Science meets Design®, the Institute will present five days of informative programming that will focus on various means and methods for improving resilience to ensure the future of the nation’s built environment.
“We are pleased to welcome the International Code Council in the role of Conference sponsor. The ICC develops model codes and standards used to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures, which fits well with our mission to advance building science, as well as this year’s Conference theme of Achieving a Resilient Future,” said Henry L. Green, President of the Institute. “We also are grateful to have IAPMO’s support as Technical Sponsor, with its long-standing reputation for developing health and safety codes and standards for plumbing and mechanical systems, also essential to Achieving a Resilient Future. We look forward to showcasing both organizations during the Conference.”
Both ICC and IAPMO are Sustaining Organization Members of the Institute and their representatives participate in leadership roles on a number of Institute Councils and Committees, as well the Institute Board of Directors. Since the Institute’s founding more than four decades ago, the three organizations have collaborated together on numerous projects to improve the safety of U.S. communities.
Building Innovation 2016 gives building professionals the chance to witness the Institute’s impact on the industry, interact with industry experts and innovators, gain a wealth of information through educational programs, earn continuing education units (CEUs), share their expertise and experiences, and participate in developing solutions.
