Symposium Focuses on Helping Lead Communities to Higher Building Performance

Find ways to guide your team to improve building performance—at both the individual facility and wider community levels—when you attend the Industry Leadership and Advocacy Symposium: Leading the Way to High-Performing Communities.  The Symposium will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, as part of Building Innovation 2015: The National Institute of Building Sciences Third Annual Conference and Expo.

Today’s building industry faces a cacophony of competing requirements and demands to realize performance goals, such as enhanced sustainability and resilience, as well as pressures to deliver highly complex projects cost effectively and in compressed timeframes. Realization of these multiple demands requires leadership to identify the technologies and practices necessary to overcome current barriers; develop short- and long-range planning for effective implementation; engage champions; and involve stakeholders to advance the mission. This day-long symposium will focus on how various segments of the building industry, including state and local regulators; health care systems; finance and insurance organizations; low-vision design advocates; workforce credentialing organizations; off-site construction providers; and many others, can come together to realize buildings in high-performing communities.

Attendees will hear from leaders in a variety of arenas, and participate in discussions on ways to advance the building industry to achieve higher building performance that addresses a myriad of issues. View the speaker list and session descriptions.
